Resident Pets

My family and I have 2 dogs – a 2 year old female Pit-bull mix named Daisy and a 6 year old male Miniature Yorkie named Charlie Brown. They are quite fun and entertaining. We refer to them as our son and daughter/ brother and sister versus “dogs.” Both love fruits and vegetables and are quite the social butterflies! They love going to dog parks and meeting new friends.

Additionally, we have 2 hermit crabs – Krabby and Patty. They are both approximately 2 years old and our boys love observing and learning from them.

What can we learn from our animal friends?

Our animal friends can teach us humans how to have unconditional, pure love. I have seen several videos reflecting this between different species. It is spectacular to watch.

Sometimes we as humans forget that we are human and make mistakes. As humans we hold grudges, sometimes for a short period of time, sometimes for an indefinite amount of time. Animals love us regardless of what mistake we made or that we forgot to throw out the trash.

What is the best part about being a pet sitter?

Having the opportunity to have multiple animals to love and care for. I want more pets, but my husband and children are content with the amount we have now, so I can live vicariously by being a pet sitter.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal in life is to raise my children to be productive caring citizens. It all starts at home. Morals, respect, patience and love is so important and lacks in many. Actions speak louder than words, and my actions are watched by each of my children. I failed to complete my college degree when I was younger, however now I am going to complete and attain my degree in accounting. I need to set the standards – if I want my children to pursue their dreams, I need to lead by example and pursue mine. It starts with me.
