I had two tabby cats, a brother and sister, for over 20 years. The female passed away first, and then the male. I was heartbroken, since I had had them for so many years. While the tabbies were still alive, I adopted two other kittens, two brothers, Davy and Bowie (pronounced Boo-eee). Davy is a sweet orange tabby – have you heard that male orange tabbies are the sweetest cats? Bowie is a huge, long-haired black cat. Finally, when my mother came to live with me in 2015, we adopted two females, Serena and Sterling. Serena has multiple colors and Sterling is gray. Sterling is in love with Davy and follows him around everywhere.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

My female tabby used to open and close front door locks, especially when I was away and had hired sitters. It drove them crazy. In one instance, a maintenance man had to climb up a ladder to the second floor and slip in through the patio door. I was out of the country, so couldn’t help in any way.

Why do you love working with animals?

I love communicating with animals. Animals know right from wrong, and they give you unconditional love. Being with an animal who looks into my eyes gives me the ultimate bonding experience.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

I always strive to be kind to others. You may hear about “random acts of kindness.” Why “random?” My motto is to show kindness whenever possible.

Currently, I have an adorable kitty named Calypso. She has quite the sassy attitude, but is also a huge sweetheart and sleeps curled up next to me every night.  I love her so much, and I swear sometimes she is the only thing getting me through the stresses that come with attending college.  At my house in San Diego, we also have a family dog named Tegan. She is half Chihuahua, half schnauzer, so she has quite the fiery and energetic personality as well. I spend a lot of time playing with her when I go home, running around in the yard and throwing her favorite toys.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

Growing up, I had two labs, who were brother and sister named Sonny and Sadie. One day, I could tell by the way that she was acting, she wasn’t feeling well. I called her over, and as always she came trotting up.  About two seconds after I started petting her she threw up all over my feet! That seemed to do the trick for her, as she started wagging her tail and ran away to go roll in the grass. Meanwhile, I was stunned into sitting there with her throw up all over my feet.

Why do you love working with animals?

I love working with animals because animals always seem just inherently good, and have a very calming effect on me. I enjoy being able to foster relationships with new animals that I meet, by getting them to trust me and figuring out what they like best. I also believe there is nothing better than coming home after a long, hard day to either a dog or cat that you know will comfort and love you unconditionally.  I cannot imagine a life that does not include animals in it.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal in life is to find a career that I love so that I love going to work every day. I am a healthcare management major in college, but am still trying to figure out what aspect of healthcare I find the most fascinating. Ultimately, I would love to be managing a practice or facility that focuses on neuroscience and brain health, as I am very passionate about helping people keep their brains healthy and the cutting edge research that is going on in Neuroscience. In this world where I have achieved all of my goals, I would also like to have two dogs, one who would love to go on runs with me, and one kitty.

I currently have two wonderful babies. Rylee is my Sheltie and Bella is my Australian shepherd mix. They both love cuddling with mom and running around chasing after each other. Rylee keeps up with Bella even with the age difference! They both love being outside but enjoy a nice bone inside when they can’t be out.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

When I first adopted Rylee, I was in college. I had a roommate who wasn’t a big fan of dogs. Overtime, Rylee won her heart but she never really like touching him with her hands. She instead started petting him with her feet. He started to enjoy this and would come up to people who had their feet up or legs crossed and encourage them to pet him with their feet. To this day he still enjoys when someone rubs their feet on him!

Why do you love working with animals?

Animals are just amazing in themselves. They are forever loving, grateful and forgiving. Being able to work with them makes me feel happy. Providing some kind of service to help make their lives happier does the same for me!

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal is to be able to spend my days doing something I love doing but that also helps society in some way. I’ve always loved working with animals and hope that one day I can dedicate all my time to working with rescue animals and finding them forever homes.

Pictured is me with my cat Goose. My roommate and I co-parent Goose, who we adopted together from a shelter in the College Station area. Some of Goose’s favorite things to do is to nap and play with her toy mouse. I got my dog, Dixie, for my 19th birthday. Dixie’s favorite thing to do is take her tennis ball to the top of our stair case and drop it down the stairs to retrieve the ball. She could do this for hours if we let her! I’ve also had lambs, pigs, and rabbits before college through FFA.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

One of the most memorable moment I’ve had with one of my animals was with Goose. During the first week of having Goose, she had managed to squeeze herself in between our dishwasher and cabinet. My roommate had heard her meowing, but couldn’t find her. It took my roommates and I about an hour before we could get her out.

Why do you love working with animals?

What I love about working with animals is that they’re all different. Some may be more lazy or more playful. I’ve had animals my whole life and I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal in life is to own a herd of sheep and raise show lambs for students to show. After completing my undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M, I plan to attend Veterinary School and specialize in Small Ruminate Medicine and Surgery.

I have a Chihuahua named Molly, a Shih Tzu named Gizmo and a Yorkie named Truffles. They love playing in the backyard with my son and cuddling next to each other on the couch.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

I was looking for my dog Molly all day and could not find her anywhere in the house. I went upstairs, searched everywhere and finally saw that she was underneath all the blankets in my bed. She loves to sleep!

Why do you love working with animals?

I love being around animals because they make me very happy. I enjoy getting exercise while walking and playing fetch with dogs. I also like learning about the different breeds of cats and dogs as they all have such adorable personalities.

To be the best mom I can be to my son and to my dogs and to open a Pet Resort in Plano.

I currently have three dogs:

Honey (7 year old Golden Retriever)
Izzy (6 year old Cairn terrier mix)
Lucy (2 year old Aussie/Golden mix)
Through the years, our family members have included goldfish, a turtle, hamsters, hermit crabs, and bunnies. I have fostered over 100 puppies for local shelters, and look forward to starting a new chapter by serving our VIPs.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

My favorite memories of our pets are with our dog, Honey. She’s a Golden Retriever and loved “practicing” baseball with my boys. She always played outfielder, catching the ball when the boys batted, and bringing it in to home plate. I also love swimming with her, she tries to race me across the pool.

Why do you love working with animals?

What I love most about working with animals is the sheer joy that they bring to my heart.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goals in life are to see my teenage sons grow to be kind and loving men, and to own so much land that I can foster any animal in need that comes my way.

I have a dog named Zeke. He is 10 years old he loves walks, cuddling, and playtime! I also have a beautiful cat named Smokey. Zeke loves to sun bathe and chew on sticks!

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

One of the craziest memories I have of Zeke is when he was an actual guard dog and bit and intruder that was trying to break into my apartment. He bit the man as he tried to get in through the sliding glass door. It was pretty amazing and Zeke was not injured at all, he is the best security system I could’ve had!

Why do you love working with animals?

I love the compassion and joy animals bring out in oneself. Their purity and kindness reminds me to keep my world view positive!

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My life goal is to measure my success through happiness!

I have two awesome dogs! I have a German Shepard/Black Mouth Cur named Diego and a Husky/Malamute/Samoyed named Shadow. Diego loves to take naps, cuddle, give kisses, and chase squirrels. Shadow is shy when he first meets people but once he is comfortable he is very playful, energetic, and loves to run and chew on shoes laces!

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

What always makes me laugh is seeing my dog, Shadow, around water. He loves to splash the water around whenever I take him to a lake and unfortunately, he’ll do the same thing with his water bowl which leaves a bit of a mess but it never fails to make me laugh.

Why do you love working with animals?

I love working with animals because they have a tendency of spreading love and joy to everyone just by being themselves.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal in life is to travel and have a career where I can help improve the lives of people and animals.

I have 3 dogs: a Chihuahua named Tank, a Chihuahua terrier (terror 😉 ) named Crue, and a Chihuahua Dachshund named Ratt. The 3 amigos are my life, and I love how different each of them are.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

The funniest thing I have experienced with my own dogs was when I walked into my bedroom and all 3 dogs were piled onto one of my pillows all on top of each other sleeping. Super cute and cracked me up.

Why do you love working with animals?

I love working with animals because each species has a different personality. With animals you don’t have to know what to say or do because they will love you regardless. There isn’t a better feeling than coming home to my dogs or being around other animals when I am having a bad day.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal in life is to be able to live on a big plot of land to foster many shelter dogs. Ultimate happiness is my life goal overall!
