Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started & Reservations

How do I get started with VIP Pet Services?

New to VIP Pet Services? Start by completing our New Client Booking Form so we can learn about you, your pet, and the care you need.

Already a VIP client? Log in to your Client Portal to request and manage services.

For questions or help with your reservation, contact our office team at pets@vippets.net.

Can I meet my pet sitter or dog walker before booking a service?

Yes. Before care begins, you’ll have a Meet & Greet with your sitter or dog walker at your home. It’s an opportunity for your pet to meet their sitter and for everyone to get comfortable before the first service.

What happens during the meet-and-greet?

Your VIP sitter comes to your home to meet your pets, learn their routine and go over the details that matter—from feeding and medications to home access and the little quirks that make your pets your pets.

How far in advance should I reserve pet care?

We recommend reserving pet care as early as possible, especially for holidays and other busy periods. VIP will try to accommodate last-minute requests when availability allows and existing client commitments are not affected. Additional fees may apply to reservations made with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Services & Pet Care

What pet care services does VIP Pet Services offer?

VIP offers professional in-home pet sitting, private dog walking, concierge cat sitting, Train & Play puppy visits, overnight pet sitting, poop scooping and litter box care.

We can also help with additional needs such as medication administration, vet and groomer transportation, pet food and supply pickups, and home care while you travel.

How long are your dog sitting visits, and what do they entail?

VIP offers several in-home pet sitting options based on how much time and care your pet needs:

Drop-In Pet Sitting — A short visit for quick potty breaks, evening tuck-ins, simple check-ins, caged pets or basic home checks.

Standard 30 — A 20–30 minute visit covering everyday needs such as feeding, fresh water, treats, walking, litter or waste cleanup, companionship and TLC.

Premium 45 or 6045- or 60-minute visits that allow more time for longer walks, multiple pets, individual routines or more involved care.

Elite Pet Sitting — Customized care for pets or situations requiring additional time, attention or hands-on support, including senior and special-needs pets.

Why should I choose in-home pet sitting instead of boarding my pet?

In-home pet sitting lets your pet stay where their life already happens — with their own bed, food, familiar surroundings and usual routine.

Instead of moving your pet to a boarding facility while you’re away, VIP comes to them and handles the meals, walks, medications, companionship and other care they need at home.

What is included in a typical dog walking session?

Every VIP dog walk is a private neighborhood walk with one-on-one attention for your dog. Depending on the option you choose, walks are available for 30, 45 or 60 minutes.

Every walk is GPS tracked, and you’ll receive a visit report with walk details and photos and/or video afterward.

Do you offer cat sitting services, and what do they include?

Yes. VIP provides professional in-home cat sitting, so your cat can stay in familiar surroundings and maintain their usual routine while you’re away.

Depending on your cat’s care plan, visits can include feeding, fresh water, litter box care, brushing, play, companionship and attention based on your cat’s personality and individual needs. VIP also offers a Shy Kitty Visit for cats who prefer minimal interaction.

Do you offer overnight pet sitting?

Yes. VIP offers Overnight Pet Sitting in your home for pets who benefit from nighttime companionship and care.

For pets who don’t need someone there all night, VIP also offers an Extended Evening Visit from 7 PM–9 PM. A Standard or Premium morning visit can be added separately when needed.

How often will my pet be visited while I'm away?

Your visit schedule is based on your pet’s needs and routine. VIP requires pets to receive care at least every 12 hours.

VIP recommends at least one daily visit for cats and outside dogs and at least two daily visits for indoor dogs without outside access.

What if my pet is anxious, shy or doesn’t like new people?

That’s okay. VIP shapes care around your pet’s personality, routine and individual needs rather than expecting every pet to respond the same way.

For pets who need extra time, space or support, tell our team when getting started so we can determine the appropriate care. For cats who prefer to hide or avoid interaction, VIP even offers a Shy Kitty Visit that allows the sitter to handle essential care without forcing social interaction.

Can VIP care for senior pets or pets with special needs?

Yes. VIP provides personalized care for senior and special-needs pets, including pets who require medication, additional time or more involved routines.

Tell our team about your pet’s needs when getting started so we can help determine the appropriate care and visit option.

Can your pet sitters administer medication?

Yes. VIP can accommodate medication needs as part of appropriate pet care. Share your pet’s medication schedule and individual requirements with the VIP team when arranging service so we can determine the appropriate care plan.

Our Sitters & Your Peace of Mind

Are your pet sitters and dog walkers insured and professionally screened?

Yes. VIP’s pet sitters and dog walkers are professional and insured. Sitters are carefully screened and mentored, with an experienced office team supporting the care of both your pet and your home.

How do you match pets with the right sitter or dog walker?

VIP considers your pet’s routine, personality and individual care needs when coordinating their care and pairing them with an experienced VIP sitter.

How do I know I can trust someone in my home with my pet?

We understand that you’re trusting us with more than a task list — you’re trusting us with your pet and your home.

VIP pet sitters and dog walkers are screened, mentored and insured for that responsibility. Your Meet & Greet also gives you the opportunity to meet your sitter in your home, introduce them to your pet and review routines, home access and the details that matter before care begins.

Will I receive photos and updates while I'm away?

Yes. VIP provides visit updates and photos to help you stay connected while you’re away.

Dog walks also include GPS-tracked route information, and after each walk you’ll receive a visit report with walk details and photos and/or video.

Will my pet have the same sitter for every visit?

VIP considers your pet’s routine, personality and individual care needs when coordinating their care with a carefully selected sitter. While we don’t guarantee the same sitter for every visit, our office team coordinates your reservations and ensures the details of your pet’s care are supported.

If your scheduled sitter becomes unavailable, another screened and qualified sitter can step in so your pet’s care can continue.

What happens if my pet sitter is unavailable?

If your sitter becomes unavailable because of illness or an emergency, VIP will arrange for another screened and qualified sitter to provide your pet’s scheduled care.

What happens during bad weather?

VIP continues pet sitting visits in different weather conditions while keeping pet and sitter safety in mind. During extreme weather, visit times may need to shift.

Dogs will still be walked during normal storms when conditions are safe. If it’s unsafe to walk outside, the sitter will provide indoor play instead.
