Tell us about your pets?

I currently have one chihuahua named Mr. Darcy, but have had pets my entire life, including other dogs and cats. 😊 Mr. Darcy is 14 years old but looks and acts like a puppy. He has a huge personality and is very energetic, sassy and spunky. I am constantly entertained by him. Mr. Darcy loves to play with his lamb chop toys, go on walks and sit on my lap. I call him my velcro dog because he follows me around everywhere I go. He is my first chihuahua, but I will definitely be a chihuahua owner for life!

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

I would say the most memorable experience I’ve had with an animal was when I first met Mr. Darcy. When I first saw him, he leapt out of my neighbor’s arms into the street and ran to me. My neighbor said Mr. Darcy had never done that with anyone. I knew it was meant to be from the second I picked him up and cuddled with him. I’ve had him ever since and he still loves to be picked up and cuddled now.

Why do you love working with animals?

Animals are so loving, understanding and loyal. They truly love you and are excited to see you no matter what. Working with animals is rewarding and mutually beneficial. They bring me so much joy, and it makes me happy to bring them joy, love and cuddles, as well.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

To consistently help others and animals. To continue to live a life of gratitude, kindness and respect. To find joy in the everyday, little things. To always remember to live in the now, not someday.

What do our pet friends teach us?

Pets teach us patience, kindness, loyalty, joy and forgiveness. They teach us that the smallest acts of kindness can make an impact. A walk, treat or cuddle can go a long way. Just like a smile or a kind word can make an impact on another person.
