Resident Pets

I have one black cat with beautiful yellow eyes named Benji. He is 2 years old and is the most interactive cat I’ve ever been around. He loves to play tag, hide and seek and he loves to watch us humans do EVERYTHING. He will sit on the kitchen bar while I’m cooking and meow at me when he wants to smell something. His favorite scent is strawberries! His favorite toy is unfortunately a piece of plastic I won’t let him have.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

I was walking my greyhound pit mix down a hill and there was a dog in their yard off of a leash that started barking at him. Just like in the movies, my dog Marley ran around me, tangled my legs with the leash and I tripped and fell. Once I was down Marley had gotten on top of me and continued to bark at the other dog. He couldn’t decide if he wanted to be happy that I was at his level for kisses or if he wanted to protect his owner. While I’m trying to get up he just kept jumping on me to keep me laying down on the sidewalk licking my face and barking at the neighbors dog. It took my good looking neighbor to come outside and get his dog to end it all. The best part was once my neighbors dog was taken inside, Marley laid beside me all proud that he guarded me successfully.

Why do you love working with animals?

What I love about working with animals is there is never one like the other. They all have their own unique personalities and the journey in learning how they want to be treated specifically to what they are comfortable and happy with is my favorite part.

What is your ultimate goal in life?

My ultimate goal in life is to get my masters degree, travel the world, own my own home, become an environmental scientist or be a famous cake artist and get a dog!

Rose’s clients say:

“I just wanted to write to tell you what a wonderful job Rose did looking after my cats while I was on vacation last week. All the sitters I’ve had from VIP have done a good job, but Rose did little extras that really made a difference.

She texted every day to tell me how the cats were doing, and when I got home it looked like she had not just taken care of them, but also of the house a little bit too! It felt so nice to come home to that.

I just wanted to let you know that she did a great job and I really hope she’s still there and available next time I go away!” -Laura
