Hiring a Dog Walker in Plano: What a VIP Walk Includes

A dog walker makes sense when your day is longer than your dog’s patience. This guide explains when a dog walker fits a busy Plano routine, what a VIP walk includes, how walks are scheduled and how you find out how each walk went.

When a Dog Walker Fits Your Routine

A walker is worth considering when your schedule leaves your dog waiting at home:

  • Long workdays, meetings or a commute that keep you away through the middle of the day
  • Shifts that change from week to week
  • Days when your plans change and a walk cannot wait until evening
  • A dog who needs more time outside than your schedule allows

If you also want care for trips or overnight stays, our pet sitting service covers that. This article is about walks.

What a VIP Walk Includes

VIP’s dog walking is private, so your dog has a walker’s attention. Walks last 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and dogs from the same household can walk together when appropriate. The walk takes place in your neighborhood, around your dog’s routine. VIP provides veterinarian-endorsed dog walking, and our team is background-checked and insured.

Every new client starts with a Meet & Greet. A VIP dog walker visits your home, meets your dog, picks up keys and goes over your dog’s care profile, including walking preferences and home access. You can ask questions before the first walk.

How Walks Are Scheduled

VIP schedules walks in two ways:

  • Recurring walks keep a regular schedule on the calendar, and clients who book several walks a week receive a per-walk discount.
  • On-demand walks are for days when your plans change. They are available from 8 AM to 7 PM for clients with a lockbox or keyless home entry, and a surcharge applies.

Short-notice booking, early or late timing and last-minute cancellations can carry additional fees. Current amounts are on our rates page.

How You Know How the Walk Went

Every VIP dog walk is GPS tracked. After the walk you can see your dog’s route, distance and pace. You also receive a visit report with photos and/or video, so you do not have to wonder how the walk went.

What Plano Pet Parents Are Saying

Sarah, Senior Executive
“I used to feel so guilty leaving my dog during long meetings. With VIP Pets, I can track his walks and get updates—it gives me so much peace of mind.”

Jessica, Nurse
“My shifts are unpredictable. GPS-tracked visits mean I never have to worry. I can check in anytime and know he’s safe and happy.”

Questions to Ask Any Dog Walker

  1. How will you get into my home, and how are keys kept?
  2. Are your walkers background-checked and insured?
  3. How will I know when the walk happened, and where did my dog go?
  4. What happens if I need to change a walk at short notice?
  5. What is the plan if something goes wrong during a walk?
  6. Can I see your rates and fees in writing before I book?
