It’s time to set Fall goals and resolutions for you and your dog!
#1 – Keep Your Routine
If you already have great routines, resolve not to lose momentum. Keep those daily walks and play times going. If you realize you’ve been busy and haven’t been spending enough time with your dog, resolve to change that starting now.
Put it on your calendar and set your alarm. Put all needed dog equipment by the door. This includes rain gear, harnesses, leashes, waste bags, ID and frisbee, if that’s part of your routine. If everything is in one place it’s easier to grab what you need and head out the door with your dog.
#2 – Stay Active
Fall is still a great time for long walks and hiking. The air is crisp and clean, the leaves are turning colors and fun to walk and romp in.
Traveling to the beach or camping are also great activities during this time of year while the weather is not too hot or too cold. Be sure to look for dog friendly rentals and beaches.
#3 – Eat Healthy
It’s always a good season to re-evaluate eating habits and get rid of any known toxins in the house or your diets. Dogs and their owners can both benefit from a healthier diet and cleaner air.
#4 – Get Some Training
If there are some training or disciplinary issues you’ve been putting off, this is a good time to address those. Do your research and find the perfect trainer for you and your dog. It’s important to get just the right fit so that training is a positive experience for all involved.
