Tell us about your pets?

I have a feisty 9lb terrier mix I rescued from DFW Rescue Me named Birdie, and a gentle giant 70lb Weimaraner named Diesel. They are my children.

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve have with an animal?

Most memorable – 5 years ago I was ready to get a dog. I had criteria. Had to be a rescue. I did NOT want a puppy. (3 years old to senior) I did NOT want a small terrier dog. (15-20 lbs or larger) I wanted a male. And for it to be black (black cats and dogs are always hard to get adopted) If it black and white that would be okay.. WELL…the universe smiled and thought it was time to teach me the life lesson of what you want vs what you need. And I needed a 4 month old puppy, 4 lbs, female terrier mix. (She was a black and white rescue though!) Birdie picked me thats for sure. Funny how life works.

Why do you love working with animals?

It brings me joy and a sense of purpose. It’s fulfilling to give pet owners comfort that their family member will be cared for. Pets are people too!
